Mind Dice Methods
A family carers knowledge of a loved one and their family history makes it easiest for them to ‘populate’ the dice with prompts. The family carer is often the ‘expert’. Though be aware that as a spouse or as a child you will have only known your loved one for a part of their lives. Their brothers and sisters will have memories that stretch further back to their youth.
So remember to consider all decades of the persons life. Think of:
Collect 12 examples for each topic.
Select 4 prompts from each section
Write them on the dice.
And try it out.
If you have a harsh reaction or no reaction rub it out and make a note on your list.
Replace it with another name.
Experiment and see what works.
Encourage friends and family to use it.
